How To Get Your Taxi at LAX
1) Get Your Trip Code
Create your Trip Code through the RideYellow app or the LAX Web Booker and lock‑in your trip price.
2) Head to a Taxi Pickup Area
LAX‑it Lot (primary pickup — near Terminal 1)
LAX‑it is located just east of Terminal 1 at the corner of World Way and Sky Way. You can walk there — follow the large LAX‑it signs along the sidewalk outside baggage claim — or ride the free LAX‑it shuttle, which arrives roughly every 7 minutes, 24/7. Look for the green LAX‑it bus stop signs on the Lower/Arrivals level outside baggage claim at any terminal.
Parking Structure 3 (between TBIT & Terminal 3)
A limited number of taxis are available inside Parking Structure 3, between Tom Bradley International Terminal and Terminal 3. Best for passengers arriving at those terminals.
Terminal 7 (far end, outside baggage claim)
A small taxi stand serves Terminals 7 and 8 at the far end of Terminal 7 outside baggage claim. Taxis may not always be waiting — follow the posted sign to call for one.

Why Choose a Taxi Over Rideshare at LAX?
Uber and Lyft both use dynamic pricing. The routes out of LAX see consistent surge activity during rush hour (3–7pm weekdays), Friday evenings, holiday weekends, and rainy days. Here’s how a RideYellow taxi compares:
| RideYellow Taxi | Uber / Lyft | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | Flat rate — quoted once, held | Dynamic — surge multipliers apply |
| Drivers | Commercially licensed & vetted | Gig workers, personal vehicles |
| Pre-booking | Book ahead — guaranteed pickup | Request on demand — driver availability varies |
| Early flights | 4am pickup? Book the night before | Hope someone’s nearby |
| Groups | SUV/Minivan guaranteed at booking | XL subject to availability & surge |
| Airport fees | Included in quoted rate | Added at checkout |
| Payment | Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash | App-based payment only |
