There are so many things to do on New Year’s Eve, but people still have trouble finding the perfect thing to do to make make the first day of 2018 special. Don’t worry because we have compiled a guide to New Year’s Eve with some of our favorite events.
What Events Can I Attend?
Queen Mary
This 21 and up New Year’s event aboard the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach will be an unforgettable celebration. Entertainment will include live music performances by Sir Mix-A-Lot, Los Chicos Del 512 and a Selena Tribute Band, a dinner and gambling. At midnight there will be a giant fireworks extravaganza to highlight the night.
Union Station Prohibition NYE
Prohibition NYE at the Ticket Concourse at Union Station brings you to the glamour of the Roaring Twenties with theatrical burlesque and live jazz ensembles. However, the modern twist of nationally touring DJ’s and a premium open bar bring this event to life. At the end of the night witness the NYE 60-football drop! Pre-sale tickets already sold out quickly so make sure you grab your tickets before they are all gone.
Grand Park – N.Y.E.L.A
Celebrate NYE in Grand Park for The Music Center’s N.Y.E.L.A. An time for everyone to come together in Grand Park and ring in the New Year. There will be 3 music stages and a grand interactive countdown featuring 3-D Digital Video Mapping. This event is alcohol-free, kid-friendly and most importantly FREE!
Santa Monica New Years Eve PubCrawl
Crawl your way into 2017 with jaw-dropping drink specials along this Pub Crawl route. Starting at 6 pm at the Circle Bar in Santa Monica you will be given a map of what bars and when they will be participating in drink specials. Make sure you don’t drink a drive and take an LA Yellow Cab home after your festivities have ended.
New Years Eve Festival in DTLB
Each year over 12,000 people come together in Downtown Long Beach to ring in the New Year. As the largest outdoor party on New Year’s this massive three-stage and the three-block festival will be in the heart of DTLB at Pine Ave between 1st and 4th streets. Come listen to live music and celebrate outside at 8pm.
Where Can I See Fireworks On New Year’s?
If you don’t feel like spending money to have a great time on NYE, why not sit back and enjoy the free fireworks happing for free? Snag a spot to relax by one of these locations and you’ll be sure get a light show at midnight.
Knott’s Merry Farm
Knott’s Berry Farm spares no expense during the holiday season and during their annual Knott’s Merry Farm celebration they feature a countdown to midnight with fireworks instead of a ball drop.
The Queen Mary
During the Queen Mary’s Auld Lang Shine NYE event people from all across Long Beach line the shoreline to catch a glimpse of their midnight fireworks display. The great part about the location of the fireworks is that one can clearly see them from all over Long Beach.
Disneyland
Every night Disneyland displays a fantastic fireworks performance, on NYE, however, they go all out and give something to aww over. Disneyland will continue their traditional 9 pm fireworks display, but the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks display will be at midnight.
Marina Del Rey
The city of Marina Del Rey hosts a celebratory fireworks display at both 9 pm and midnight. Luckily for us, one can see the fireworks from most spots along the water even though the fireworks are set off at Burton Chace Park. Grab a chair and a blanket and find a spot to relax along the water’s edge and watch the fireworks.
