Los Angeles is so big. Often times when you’re tasked with planning a date night there are too many choices to choose from. However, we compiled a nice list of our favorite things to do on a date night from around the city so that no matter where you live in LA you can find some inspiration from our list.

Paddle Boats in Echo Park

The paddle boats on the lake in Echo Park are a blast for a date idea. The lake in Echo Park is quite vast making enough room for everyone to paddle around. The paddle boats are fun because they are romantic swans that are very comfortable. This personal setting is a great place for first dates or couples.

The Last Bookstore

Why not walk around the famous Last Bookstore in Los Angeles. This bookstore is not your average boring bookstore. Instead, it has turned into a large art installation that many come to get cool Instagram photos. This interesting destination would be great to bring a date to, to start conversations about art, books and to have fun.

Santa Monica Pier

The Santa Monica Pier is a fun date destination for both the daytime and nighttime. During the day you can walk the pier, the beach, and even the 3rd street promenade. At night you can gaze at the awesome Ferris Wheel and play the carnival games on the pier too.

Santa Monica Food Truck Lot

The food truck lot in Santa Monica is a great date idea for those people who like quirky food dates. The lot is located on Main Street every Tuesday and there is a different line up of food trucks most of the time. When you get your food you can stand around or eat it in the grass lawn picnic style.

Yamashiro

Yamashiro is one of our favorite restaurants in the LA area for date night. If you are a fan of  Japanese food, great scenery, panoramic Hollywood views and good vibes then Yamashiro’s is the place for you.

The Observatory

Although the Observatory is a large tourist attraction and parking can be difficult if you decide to make an evening of it you can have a great worry free date that doesn’t cost much at all. The Observatory has a romantic view, interesting history and large grass lawn for picnics.

Exposition Rose Garden

The Exposition Park Rose Garden is our favorite garden the Los Angeles. As you can see from the photo above the garden is fairly large and it has a big fountain in the middle. This garden is perfect for a stroll with your date among the flowers.
