Lending a helping hand to those less fortunate and giving back this Thanksgiving is extremely important. Leading up to Thanksgiving, RideYellow and its fleets’ have come together to help the communities they serve.

So far we have helped with turkey giveaways, offered free rides and served food to the hungry. Last Friday, 11/18/16, we took a trip to Kilgore Manor and Griffith Gardens senior living facilities.

Together with the LA Yellow Cab fleet, Council member Curren D. Price and Yolande Bankston (the director of Kilgore Manor); we were able to give away turkeys to the elderly. A little over 80 seniors came out to the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway.

Today we will be at the Giving With a Thankful Heart Event in Long Beach at Ernest S. McBride Park 1550 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. The Feast is hosted by Council member Dee Andrews and it continues to grow each year. There will be 3,000 attendees expected at the Thanksgiving Feast and everyone is welcome. Food will be served for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The best part about it – you can eat as much as you like. Council member Dee Andrews only wants to see that everyone gets fed and is full.

All people attending Giving With a Thankful Heart can get a free ride to and from the event in a Long Beach Yellow Cab.

Simply call (562) 444.4444 and mention that you are going to the Feast.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember to find time to give back to your community.
